Coach Rinder
Background
A native of Annapolis, Maryland, Tommy Rinder currently serves as the lead assistant coach for St. Mary’s College of Maryland Men’s Lacrosse. Coach Rinder was a four-year member of the Seahawks Men’s Lacrosse team as a close defenseman. He served as a team captain while earning Scholar All-American and All-Conference honors his senior year.
During his time as lead assistant, Coach Rinder has served as the defensive and offensive coordinator for the Seahawks Men’s Lacrosse program. He has played a hand in the development of 20 All-Conference selections, three All-Americans, and has helped guide the Seahawks to five conference championships and three NCAA tournament victories over the previous five seasons.
Coach Rinder has extensive experience developing well rounded defenseman in areas such as on and off ball posture, foot work, sliding, on ball technique, communication, and stick work. He also has experience developing proper shooting and dodging techniques for offensive players.
Tommy currently resides in Leonardtown, Maryland, with his wife, Hannah and golden retriever, Adley, where they enjoy spending time on the water, going to Olde Town Pub with friends, and going for runs around the Leonardtown Square.

Have Fun!
In order to be great at something you have to put in a lot of hard work. The easiest way to work hard at something is to love doing it. The easiest way to love doing something is to have fun with it. It is my goal as a coach to make practice the best part of my players’ day.
Process Driven!
No one is a master at their craft overnight. It is my goal as a coach to celebrate even the smallest growth of my players in the hopes that it keeps them motivated and excited to get better. Those small moments of growth in the process of getting better will eventually turn into massive results.
Learn by Doing!
You don’t get better at lacrosse by listening to someone talk about lacrosse. You get better at lacrosse by playing lacrosse. It is my goal as a coach to put my players in setting where they “do” more and “stand” less.
